Red Fox Directors Ben Schnitzerling and Anthony Schmidt are experienced leaders and master negotiators. They each have more than 20 years of experience in high-end project management in the areas of transport, building, logistics and infrastructure.

Throughout their careers, Ben and Anthony have been at the helm on major complex projects. They have led the turnaround of group operations, opening up new business lines in new geographies, and overseeing large-scale transformations. This vast wealth of experience has given them the professional integrity and operational know-how to ensure they deliver for their partners. Along with this experience, they bring with them access to a strong network of collaborative professionals and experts who provide high-level strategic advice and execution.

Ben and Anthony founded Red Fox to use their experience and skills to help individuals and organisations negotiate complexity. Both understand the extreme pressure and isolation individuals and organisations face during difficult times and adverse circumstances. They founded Red Fox to utilise their talents in such situations for the benefit of their partners.

Ben Schnitzerling
Director

 

Ben Schnitzerling is a co-founder and director of Red Fox Advisory. He is a transformational leader who empowers and cares about people. He started Red Fox with partner Anthony Schmidt to create a business that turns complexity into positive outcomes.

Before Red Fox, Ben was a senior leader in the Australasian division of global consulting firm Arup. As the regional director of its Transport and Resources Sector, he had direct operational control of over 1,100 staff and annual revenue over AUD 270 million. He was promoted to Principal at Arup at the age of 34, making him among the youngest to reach the position in the firm.

Ben has led operational turnarounds, opened new business lines in new geographies, and overseen large-scale cultural changes within organisations.

 

He has strong connections to international markets, a global network of contacts, and the experience of handling billion-dollar projects. He is also an Advisory Board Chair to transitioning and restructuring companies. 

Ben holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) degree from the Queensland University of Technology. He is a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland, a Fellow of Engineers Australia, Certified Advisory Chair, and a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. 

He is the proud father of three sons. In partnership with his wife, they enjoy living full lives and making lasting family memories.

 
 

Anthony Schmidt
Director

 

Anthony Schmidt is a co-founder and director of Red Fox Advisory. His personality and compassion as a leader is informed by the strong underlying relationships he builds and values. He started Red Fox with partner Ben Schnitzerling to create a business that turns complexity into positive outcomes.

Formerly a Principal within global consulting firm Arup’s Transport and Resources Sector, Anthony performed numerous project governance and operational leadership roles during his tenure. His 20+ years of experience has included leading large multi-disciplinary teams in the delivery of significant projects across a broad spectrum of contracting forms, geographies and markets. 

This breadth of knowledge also lent itself to operational roles within the business at discrete points supporting growth and cultural change. 

 
 

His technical background has given him an acute analytical understanding of project delivery and risk within complex projects and situations. His hands-on leadership approach supports people in planning and responding to such complexities, creating opportunity and innovation for the benefit of stakeholders.       

Anthony holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering. He espouses and upholds old fashioned values, acknowledging his rural upbringing as the source of his ethics. He is a family man with a supporting wife, two children and four beautiful granddaughters who keep him young at heart.

Michael Price
Director

 

Michael Price is a Director with Red Fox Advisory. With over 20 years’ experience, Michael brings deep domain knowledge across a range of procurement models including public private partnership (PPP), collaborative agreements and alliance contracts. 

He has led the integration of multifaceted technical teams to provide holistic solutions through the project lifecycle. Michael has successfully implemented management frameworks, systems and processes to enable efficient design delivery with complex internal and external interfaces. He appreciates how critical these systems are in ensuring a project achieves compliance with the Contract.

With his technical and commercial expertise, Michael proactively identifies tension points between project objectives, client expectations and delivery models at an early stage and develops innovative solutions to overcome them. He values contribution from all project team members and encourages them to challenge concepts to enhance the desired project brief.  He firmly believes in keeping his clients informed and providing a ‘no surprises’ approach which builds and enhances relationships.

 

Frank Vromans
Senior Consultant

Frank Vromans is a Senior Consultant with Red Fox Advisory. With 40 years’ experience in engineering and infrastructure, Frank has worked in the UK, Africa, Asia and Melanesia. As Infrastructure Leader at a major engineering firm, he had direct responsibility for over 800 staff across the operations in the Australasia region.

He was instrumental in the development and implementation of processes and tools within Red Fox, designed to anticipate and manage risk in various contract forms. He also served as an Australasia Region Board member. Frank brings hard-earned experience and a wealth of insights to Red Fox, providing partners with assurance in even the most testing scenarios.

Miles Vass
Senior Consultant

Miles Vass has a strong 35 year track record in the transport industry, particularly in the road and corridor transport infrastructure sector, 33 of which were spent leading a government agency. Miles has successfully held several senior leadership roles meeting a wide and diverse range of challenges and goals. He delivered a multitude of projects both in planning and delivery using a wide variety of bespoke contract forms. Over this time Miles built a solid reputation for delivering quality results on time and on budget.

In his most recent role as the Deputy Director-General, Infrastructure Management and Delivery Division (IMD) for the Department of Transport and Main Roads (QLD), Miles was responsible for the delivery of the integrated program of  infrastructure projects and the maintenance and operation of the state-controlled road network. During this time Miles led the State Government’s reconstruction program of Queensland’s transport infrastructure following the unprecedented natural disaster events.

Marty Scrogings
Senior Consultant

Marty is a Civil Engineer with over 30 years’ experience, 15 years specialising in senior leadership roles on major infrastructure and tunnelling (road and rail) projects, and postgraduate studies in Civil, Structural and Geotechnical Engineering.

Marty is highly regarded as an expert in the industry and has been appointed Engineering Design Director and Technical Director for the design of some of the largest most complex, multi-disciplinary transportation projects throughout Australasia. He possesses a wealth of experience and knowledge across all fields of engineering and construction, including civil, structural, tunnelling (mined and TBM), hydraulics, geotechnical, commercial land use, planning and construction methodology.    

 

David Hull
Western Australia Operations Lead

David Hull is a Senior Geotechnical Consultant and Western Australia Lead with Red Fox Advisory. With over 23 years’ experience, David brings both innovative and practical engineering solutions along with strong management capability and technical excellence gained across a broad range of infrastructure and building projects.

David’s strong technical, investigation and management expertise allow him to challenge design and construction processes, developing innovative solutions and strategies and providing the best solution for both client and project. David firmly believes that clients need to part of this process, advocating a “no surprises approach”, ultimately creating long-term, meaningful relationships based on trust and reliable advice and action.

Bill Sherlock
Senior Design Manager

Bill is an experienced and resourceful Design Project Manager and Director, operating in feasibility, tendering, project award and project launch, design and delivery of differing projects. His strong project delivery and management background have been developed on various projects across the UK, Middle East and Australasia. He has experience leading projects ranging in size from mega projects to site construction, managing the project cycle from inception to completion and handover.

Teamwork and collaboration is at the centre of Bill’s philosophy. He believes that if properly led and motivated, every team, no matter how diverse they are in their technical disciplines, background and experience, has the potential and ability to deliver exceptional results.

Aaron Godfrey
Western Australia Business Lead

Aaron is a chartered professional engineer and design manager with over 13 years' experience in the engineering industry. Aaron has delivered large multidisciplinary road, rail and infrastructure projects across Australia, with significant experience working in major project delivery teams and Alliances.

Aaron has developed expertise in finding workable solutions on complex infrastructure projects that have difficulties with design conformance, constructability, site constraints, stakeholder inputs and community involvement.

Aaron is passionate about building a strong positive team culture and believes that high morale leads to better quality of work, efficiency, strong client relationships, and greater job satisfaction.

 

 

Karen OJ
Principal Geotechnical Engineer

Karen is a professional Principal Geotechnical Engineer who brings with her a wealth of experience delivering a wide range of complex infrastructure projects across Australia, Asia and Europe. 

As the design and team lead for multidisciplinary projects, Karen specialises in technical integration within project teams in order to deliver a cohesive solution for her clients. Highly experienced in geotechnical design and numerical modelling of deep excavation for major infrastructure projects, Karen has worked on various urban environments around the world.

To achieve clients’ objectives and value-adding outcomes, Karen focuses on realistic geotechnical analysis and practical design solutions, delivering results in savings on construction costs and projects.

Tim Dack
Senior Engineer

Tim Dack is a Civil Engineer with 18 years’ experience. He has a background in technical/design engineering and project management across a broad range of projects including residential, industrial/commercial developments, road, water and sewage infrastructure, as well as contract administration. Tim brings well rounded expertise across earthworks, roadworks, stormwater drainage, sewer & water reticulation design and documentation.  

He is an accomplished CAD modeller who is highly knowledgeable of design and drafting standards covering local and state authorities across Queensland. He has extensive experience with geometrics and the use of AutoCAD, MX, 12D, 12D drainage, PC Sewer, PC Drainage, MUSIC and DRAINS software.

Earl Aguiar
Senior Civil Engineer

For the past 16 years, Earl has worked on the delivery of infrastructure and urban development projects across a variety of industries and market sectors, with experience in environments ranging from highways, ports, correctional facilities, schools, airports, and mining camps to broad acre land development.

Earl has coordinated multidisciplinary teams consisting of project managers and engineering teams across civil, structural, hydraulic, and mechanical disciplines, including digital designers. He believes it is vital to foster a positive team dynamic and to cultivate enduring client and stakeholder relationships.

 

Kevin Cheng
Experienced Bridge Engineer

Kevin is experienced in the design of bridges and associated road infrastructure. He has contributed to structural design on several major infrastructure projects and acted as project manager and lead structural engineer in smaller ($15-20mil) projects.

Kevin is proficient in various structural analysis software applications, including Spacegass, Midas, LUSAS and Autodesk Structural Bridge Design, and is familiar with AS5100 design standards and client-specific design criteria and specifications. He has completed design and verification of bridges and other structures constructed using reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and steel.

Evan Walters
Experienced Civil Engineer

A Civil Engineer with 8 years’ experience, Evan has contributed to the civil design, management and construction of major infrastructure projects across Australia, New Zealand, the US, and the Pacific Islands.

Evan has developed knowledge in a range of civil engineering and construction aspects including QA/QC, technical specification development, job management, risk management, procurement, progress reporting, scheduling, and coordination of high value construction projects.

Kartik Mehta
Civil Engineer

Kartik has 6 years’ experience as a civil engineer. Currently, he is seconded to Queensland Rail as a Design Review Manager for the $2.6billion Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project.

He began his career working for the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Qld, where he gained experience as a site engineer, piling engineer, passenger integration specialist, and a project manager in both pre-construction and construction delivery phases.

Kartik has also completed independent contract reviews for both TMR and Contractors assessing Contract Documents for their completeness, risks and opportunities.

 

Cortney Scotney
Senior Consultant

Cortney brings valuable experience, having worked with the Transport and Main Roads, Qld for nearly 12 years, most recently in the role of Manager and Principal Engineer for the Project Planning and Corridor Management team.

Her experience with the Main Roads planning office included support for upgrades to intersections, road widening, and even speed sign changes and crash/safety analysis.

Cortney is passionate about supporting women in engineering, having returned to CQ University to engage students, outlining various engineering programs available to inspire the next generation.

Lyn Ronchi
Civil Designer

Lyn has over seven years’ industry experience as a civil draftsperson and designer. She has worked on a wide range of infrastructure, commercial and residential development projects.

Lyn has developed technical expertise in computer-aided drafting and design packages such as AutoCAD, 12D, GuideSIGN and ArcGIS.

She brings a broad range of experience, strong technical background, and is driven to ensure that every project achieves the best possible outcome for her clients and stakeholders.

Scott Ballard
Senior Designer

Scott has more than 18 years’ experience and strong technical skills in Civil Design. He has been involved in a variety of civil infrastructure projects from small council roads through to major tunnels and airport (Air and Landside) design. He has taken on principal design roles in key projects in the Transport, Resources and Infrastructure sectors.

Scott has built strong working relationships with government and commercial clients and has a deep understanding of the needs of local authorities, which allows him to provide innovative solutions on complex projects with a high attention to detail.

 

Dr. Julia Summers
Principal Structural Engineer

With over 28 years’ extensive experience in a wide variety of design, review and management roles in Australia, Europe, UK and USA, Julia has led teams to develop, review, and deliver rail, road, and pedestrian designs across all phases from feasibility through to detailed design, review, construction, and maintenance. Julia has experience in the design and construction support of steel, reinforced concrete, and pre-cast concrete structures.

Displaying a strong technical leadership with a depth of bridge design experience across all project stages, Julia’s approach to developing project solutions with Clients and Key Stakeholders is holistic and collaborative. She is adaptive and innovative, finding practical, strategic solutions to complex issues, and an inspirational leader to her team.

Thiago Pistori
Structural Draftsperson

Thiago has five years of experience as a structural draftsperson providing solutions in the preparation and delivery of technical drawings for structural projects.

He is highly skilled in AutoCAD and continues to build his technical skillset with other applications including Revit and Spacegass. He prepares technical plans in the production of projects, calculating and designing items such as slabs, wall framing, floor and roof framing systems, and retaining walls, and working with structural steel, precast concrete, reinforced concrete and PT slabs. He produces high quality detailed drawings for projects to achieve the best results for his clients in his design concepts.




 

Tristan Fillon
Civil Engineer

Tristan’s involvement in the civil industry has focused largely on bridge and road design. He is familiar with DTMR design specifications, Australia standards, Austroads Guides, and the National Construction Code.

In addition, Tristan has gained experience completing field work for geotechnical investigations and as part of the site administration team on the construction of a cable stay bridge in Central Queensland, which has given him the opportunity to build his stakeholder management skills and gain a real-life perspective, seeing design projects through to construction in the field.

Gabrielle Rochet
Civil Engineer

Gabrielle has recently graduated from a Batchelor of Civil and Environmental Engineering with First Class Honours at the Queensland University of Technology. Over the last 2 and a half years at Red Fox Advisory, she has developed her skillset within Geotechnical, Civil and Structural Engineering. She is proficient in the use of QGIS, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, SLOPE/W and SEEP/W. Gabrielle strives to do everything to the best of her ability and with the utmost consideration for the task's quality, safety and environmental impacts.

Alex Ludlow-Cope
Undergraduate Civil Engineer

Alex is an undergraduate, currently studying for a Bachelor of Engineering and a Bachelor of Economics at QUT and developing his AutoCAD and design skills.

Alex is a team-player who is always keen to acquire new skills, learn more about current projects, and contribute to work packages which will support the team to deliver their projects on time.

 

Vikrant Pratap
Technician

Vikrant has very strong capability in civil drafting and technical design work. He employs his skillset in digital delivery to  efficiently streamline the project at hand, taking a logical and conversant approach. To do this he utilises a range of software from AutoCAD, Projectwise and 12D.

Vikrant has held key roles in multiple projects at Red Fox Advisory focusing primarily on civil infrastructure projects from concept design, detailed designs, site phases and staging plans. He has developed excellent interpersonal skills, patience, expertise in quality checks, attention to detail and the ability to understand explain concepts clearly.

Brenda Silva
Technician

Brenda holds a Bachelor of Engineering and an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering.

As a Technician with Red Fox Advisory, Brenda has gained substantial practical experience working on multi-disciplinary projects across Queensland as a member of the Design and Drafting team.  She is a quick learner with capability in civil site design, road design and subdivision development. Brenda is proficient in the 2D/3D software Autocad, Revit and is developing her technical skills in 12D.

 

Alison Bock
Project Controls Manager

Alison’s passion is in developing and implementing processes which streamline operations, provide clarity, and drive outcomes that deliver value. She believes the best solutions are borne from courage, communication and collaborative relationships.

Alison has an extensive background in client and contracting organisations across the infrastructure and resources industries, which has given her diverse experience throughout the project, operations and maintenance lifecycle in both Australia and internationally.  She complements her proficient and insightful project management skills with intuitive implementation and change management methodology.

Yasmin Sethi
Head of People & Performance

Yas develops and delivers strategic and operational outcomes across all aspects of the HR Lifecycle. She is a Certified Practising Human Resources professional recognised by AHRI, and a Chartered Professional member of CIPD in the UK.

Yasis passionate about working with established leaders as well as mentoring and coaching professionals entering the workforce to support their career development. An experienced health and safety professional and accredited facilitator, Yas helps to build an environment where people have the ability to develop their skills and do great work, while providing a safe working environment for all.

Deb Lawlor
Finance Manager

Deb is a qualified Accountant with over 20 years’ experience in finance and accounting roles. A Certified Practising Accountant, Deb is experienced in providing visibility to project management and executive teams to ensure prudent business and risk management and sound corporate governance. She supports the Red Fox operations by providing key insights into business performance and enjoys helping to grow the business.
